Bobil Adventures A Blog about traveling in a Bobil!

So what is a Bobil you ask?

First things first, it’s pronounced “boobeel” not like “bobble”

Bobil is the Norwegian word for camper. Elin is from Norway and while she has lived most of her life in America, she is still a proud Norwegian and still has family and friends there. When we first purchased our camper, like most people do these days when they have such an event in their lives, she posted pictures on Facebook to share the happy news with all of our friends. There were many comments and congratulations and her former sister-in-law commented in Norwegian that we had gotten a bobil. As we were kicking around different names for our beautiful new camper we kept going to back to the comment from Facebook and finally our new home away from home became The Bobil or just The Bo.
Bo, in Norwegian means live, which brings a wealth of meaning to our name choice. We can get pretty philosophical while ruminating around a late night campfire.
